You have the right to access your clinical record but this is done through a request process so we can make sure we release the right information to the right person. Under the Health Regulations 1996 (Retention of Health Information), Belverdale Hospital must keep any paperbased health records they hold for a patient for 10 years from the last time they provided services to that patient. Belverdale hospital also has digital records of all our patients dating from 2011 onwards. Records prior to 2011 which were not claimed in that year are no longer in existence.
