Access to services at Belverdale Hospital is by request of your Surgeon. Belverdale Hospital will contact you after receiving the booking request to discuss admission planning and any other details.
As of October 2025, the majority of people undergoing surgery at our facility will be seen in Pre-anaesthetic Assessment Clinic prior to final approval. This is a nurse-led clinic run in partnership with our Anaesthetists. Appointments last 60-90 minutes. Any costs incurred as part of this clinic are included in the final price of service. These appointments are an essential part of our pre-admission screening process. This assessment allows us to identify known and preventable risk throughout every point of your journey with us, and are therefore unable to be removed from the service provision. If you have previously had a general anaesthetic at our facility, you may be exempt from repeating this part of the process; this is on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Anaesthetic Team and the Ward Manager.
